How to stop my cat from going to parents' house for food and shelter?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old

My cat has a habit of going to my parents house to eather eat or sleep. I used to live close to them, but I now live a few streets away, but still the cat keeps visiting my parents almost everyday. I keep telling my parents to not let him in, but he sometimes manage to sneak in. What should I do to make my cat stop running up to my parents house for food or shelter.

He is cute! The only thing you can really do to prevent him from going to your parent's house is to not let him outside. Once he is outside, you really can't stop him from going over there. Your parents can stop feeding him and letting him inside but he still might go over there out of habit.
