My dog's heat stopped when my other dog went into heat. Can she breed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have two sebrian huskies, both female. My youngest one started showing signs she was going into heat but my other female dog who is older went into heat and my younger female stopped her heat. Will she go into heat after the older dog or did we miss the time to breed her?

You probably missed the time to breed her if she is no longer showing signs of heat. It should not have anything to do with the older dog's heat cycle. If this happens again though, I would suggest you take her to a vet for an exam. She may have issues with her uterus/ovaries that are causing irregular heats. Best wishes.
