My dog ate Ginger Gravol. Is it toxic? What symptoms to watch for?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Saint Bernard | Male | unneutered | 6 months and 16 days old | 100 lbs

My 100lb 7 month old male St. Bernard got into a small bottle of non-drowsy Ginger Gravol about 30 minutes ago. I'm not sure how many tabs he ingested, I don't think that many, but I'm wondering what signs I should look for in case of overdose? Should I take him to the vet right now?

Fortunately, this is just ginger, which is not toxic to dogs; even at high doses, so need to worry. At most, this would cause some loose stools, or some decrease in activity, but not any serious problems. I hope that helps and all is well with Walter.
