My 6-week puppy has a pus-filled bump on its head. Should I see a vet?

My 6 week old puppy had a random bump with pus in the middle of his forehead, now he has one close to his eye. Should I take him to the vet?

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Boss. I always err on the side of caution, if something abnormal persists, spreads, worsens or other signs develop, you should always get your pet examined right away. This is most likely a bacterial skin infection caused by a staph bacteria. It is not contagious to people or other dogs. This can escalate into a bigger problem so it's important to get him evaluated. Your vet can get a history, perform an exam, then advise you on diagnostics (if needed) and treatment. Puppies can break out with something called puppy strangles due to the staph infection and your vet can see if this is a possibility and start treating it. Good luck
