My dog is itching after dust exposure. How long will symptoms last?

Rupert has been scratching and biting at himself for two days now very often. No new diet, environment etc. We broke down and gave him 1/2 a Benadryl (10mil). This seems to help relieve his itching. Also hasn’t pooped really in few days, on little bits. He has also been shedding. (Not typical for a Morkie). Only thought would be that he spent one afternoon “helping” us clean up a dusty/dirty room. How long can I expect this to go on if being out of a dusty environment was the cause? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 8 months and 24 days old | 12 lbs

It can last 2-3 days in some cases, in others it can last 2 weeks or even longer, each dog can react very differently and it really depends how sensitive your dog is to dust, if dust is the cause at all.
