My dog's penis is stuck out, purple, and bleeding. Is it an emergency?

He’s 13 years old. His penis is stuck out and now the head is turning purple and bleeding from his pee hole. Is there anything I can do for him?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Zeek! Zeek needs to be taken to a Vet right away! He needs to have the penis put back in the prepuce as soon as possible before the penis loses circulation and becomes devitalized. This is an emergency. He needs a Vet, at home care would be too painful and likely unsuccessful. You can try sugar water and lube. But do not try very long, time is of the essence.
