My Chihuahua has muscle spasms. Is it normal or a serious health issue?

My Chihuahua started having small muscle spasms and I would like to know if it is anything serious or if it’s normal for Chihuahuas. Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 4 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Muscle spasms are not particularly unique or common in chihuahuas. How serious this is depends on if it persists or not. If this continues today and does not resolve on its own, I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment. Sometimes muscle spasms can happen secondary to neurologic issues, toxicities and even metabolic disturbances. Good luck and have a good day!
