Why is my kitten vomiting orange liquid, pale gums, and lethargic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 25 days old | 5 lbs

My cat is aprox 4 moths old used to play alot, very bright full of energy. Now she plays alot less lately, shes been vomiting orangeish liquid, no chuncks so i think it might be stomach vile, her gums aren't bright pink, very pale and she isn't fixed. I don't see her eat much except for treats. What could be wrong?

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. She may be very dehydrated and the pale gums may indicate they she is anemic. I am concerned about her based on your description and would recommend that she see a veterinarian as soon as possible to help better determine what could be going on. I would recommend testing her blood and checking her for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. I hope this helps and that she is ok. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Poor Winnie! She could have an infection or parasite causing the problem. She sounds very sick so she really should be examined and treated by a vet. Your vet can run some tests to help determine the cause and then prescribe medications to treat. It sounds like she is dehydrated so she will also need some fluids to help re-hydrate her. Hope she feels better soon!
