My dog has lymphoma and is on prednisone. Why is he so agitated?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 81 lbs

My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma five weeks ago, decided on prednisone alone. He’s constantly unsettled, barking, moaning also he’s gone from a gentle giant to an absolute nightmare. We are not sure if it’s the lymphoma taking over or the steroids.

Steroids usually makes a dog more lethargic rather than anything else, so i do believe it is the lymphoma causing all these symptoms unfortunately, it might also be a sign that the prednisone is not working.
