Pet's info: Dog | Saint Bernard | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 9 months old | 100 lbs
My 3yroldSt. Bernard, has ongoing Gerd extremely bad to where she vomits bile. she’s losing her hair by the handful it’s real brittle, sometimes she gets better for a couple months then it gets bad again. She doesn’t like to eat. We give her anti acids twice a day and have tried expensive hypoallergenic food, and Limited ingredients food. She has trouble vomiting like dry heaves. She also has a lot of gas. She isn’t fixed. She has tons of energy when she plays with the other dog. Help us please!

I would recommend a broad spectrum deworming to see if that helps. Then, if it hasn’t been done yet I would run some blood work. If that is normal then I would encourage you to have her stomach and intestinal tract biopsied. Are you planning to spay her? If so I would recommend discussing the possibility of obtaining biopsy samples at the time of spay. This is something I have done frequently. This will give you the best information possible about future treatment to keep her GI tract as healthy as possible. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
