Why is my 7-month-old female cat aggressive after male cat neutering?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 7 months and 24 days old | 7 lbs

I have 3, 7 month old kittens. Boy and 2 girls. A month ago, one of the girls started sleeping/wanting to be by herself all the time. My husband took boy to get fixed last Wednesday. The day after that he was giving treats, as soon as he approached the girl she started hissing and then attacked his face/eye. He pushed her off him, and everyday since she has growled and hissed at him. He put her outside, she left and came back a day or so later. Brought her in, she seemed fine and hissed at him

If the two females cats are not spayed I suggest you do that as soon as possible. That could sure be the reason for the tension. Not only that but if the females are not spayed and are going outside they will get pregnant guaranteed as soon as they go into heat. Usually the first heat cycle is around 6-7 months (so now). I also suggest you try some Feliway products in your home. These are basically "happy cat pheromones" that help to de-stress and relax cats. It works very well. Here is a link to their website. You can buy their products at any large pet store or online. https://www.feliway.com/us#redirected Hope this helps. Best wishes.
