Why is wet food important for cats, and what are its pros and cons?

Why is wet food important and can I make my own if I supplement with healthy digestion dry food?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It is typically recommended for cats to be fed a small amount of wet food to add water to their diet. Unfortunately, wet cat food can be pretty high in salt and fat, so should be offered in small amounts, usually not more than one small can per day for an adult cat. You can also make sure your cat is drinking water, and some cats prefer to drink from a flowing fountain. I hope this helps!
