My 3-month kitten has URI, is congested, bloated. Should I worry?

Hello, I Have a 3 month old Kitten who has URI. I have him on antibiotics for the last 5 days. Hes eating, drinking water, playing, going to the bath room just fine but hes sneezing a lot more now and his nose is very congested. He is also very bloated. Do i need to worry?

The bloat is probably non related to the URI, this could be due to intestinal worms for example. URI can last 2 weeks in kittens, sometimes even more, i wouldn't be too worried about the sneezing, finish the antibiotic course, if he is not better by then take him back to your vet.

    I’ve found that the congestion can take several weeks to resolve once they’re better. As long as she’s eating, drinking and acting normal give her more time. I wouldn’t continue anymore antibiotics. It may help to have her in the bathroom when you take a hot shower or use a dehumidifier to moisten her nostrils. Use a warm wet cloth to clean he nose as needed. Be patient and this should improve. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Beans.
