My Persian cats keep getting worms. How often can I give Zentel?

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 23 days old | 8.81849 lbs

Persian cats , 10 months old and 1 girl , 1 Boy "I have vaccinated them for fleas and tape worms but they have worms again so i gave them Zentel as my vet said (worms coming from their butts again) and i give them half tsp of zentel syrup,so they get worms every twice a week (i think its bcx they eat dead small animals) so im lil concerned abt what r the side effects of Zentel since im giving them twice a week ,my vet didnt tell me in detail which is sad. I use Flea Shampoo so they dont have'em

I recommend you take some of the worms for a formal indentification by your vet in order to determine the species and likely source (fleas or small mammals) so as to guide the most effective prevention. I wold recommend oral or long acting spot on flea treatment and also an insecticidal household flea spray to reduce any flea eggs or larvae. Tapeworm medications will only kill the adult worms inside the cat at anyone time and do not prevent reinfection but I wold not recommend treating any more than monthly
