Given the duration and location of this lump, I am very concerned about a bone or cartilage tumor. It's also possible that there is an infection causing this lump, or it could be a benign cyst. Either way, this could lead to serious problems and should be diagnosed by a veterinarian as soon as possible to prevent it from getting worse or becoming inoperable. In order to know exactly what this is, the vet will need to take a sample of it and analyze it in a laboratory. I recommend taking Riley to the vet within the next week to get this checked-out. I hope that helps and Riley gets better soon.
