What is this red rash near my dog's genitals after exercise?

This is typically treated with local cleaning, antibiotics and a medication such as prednisone to avoid the licking and chewing and usually will resolve in a week or two. It is very important to avoid any further licking or chewing and you may be able to achieve that by using an e-collar. You can use pet wipes or plain, unscented baby wipes to gently clean the area. Dry thoroughly afterwards. A small amount of plain cornstarch will work to keep the folds in her skin dry. An e-collar (cone) should be used to prevent further licking. This, along with cleaning, may be enough to allow healing, but if not then Belle will need to be seen by your vet. If this is just inflammation from insect bites and not an infection, it will likely clear up on its own. I would recommend using a product such as Malacetic Conditioning spray which can be found online quite easily or a steroid spray from PetCo and apply to the area twice daily until resolved. Hello. It looks like Chunk has a bit of dermatitis going on. It may have started out with a little irritation, & with time, a staph infection has become evident. It is always best to see your veterinarian about this, but in the meantime, you can mix a dab or 1% hydrocortisone cream with a dab of triple antibiotic & lightly coat the area twice a day. Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. It could definitely be a small bug bite, or even a pimple or an ingrown hair, although it doesn’t look very inflamed. Since he was recently groomed, he could have gotten knicked by the clippers in that area, making it slightly reddened. As long as he doesn’t seem bothered by it and it isn’t painful to the touch, and he is otherwise healthy, I don’t think he needs to go to the vet right now. I would recommend monitoring the spot to see if it changes in appearance at all (color, size) or if more spots appear anywhere on his body. If this occurs, Cash may need to be evaluated by a veterinarian who can examine the spot more closely and determine if it has become infected. I hope this helps!
