Should I use a rubber band to remove a skin tag from my dog's belly?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | unneutered | 33 lbs

Yes my name is mr Drinkard and my mail pug has a looks like a skin tag on his belly about a quarter size can I take a rubber band and put around it to make it fall off ??? Is that a good idea or not

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I can see that Rockyroad has a bumpy, hairless growth. You should have the growth examined by a vet, who can surgically remove it and provide proper pain control and prevent infection. Please do not put a rubber band around the growth, as this will be painful for your dog and can result in death of the skin around the rubber band and infection.
