If my child isn't allergic to dogs, can they be allergic to cats?

Are dog and cat allergies the same? We had a dog and none of my 3 little kids had allergies, we are planing to get a cat now, does cat cause allergies on a kid tgat has no allergies to dogs?

Each animal can cause allergies to a human, some kids will be allergic to one dog and not to another, same goes with cats, a kid may not be allergic to dogs but will be allergic to cats, it's impossible to predict.
