My cat eats kitty litter and puts it in his water. Should I worry?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 lbs

One day I actually saw my male cat eat kitty litter. It was only once. But I know he puts the litter in his drinking water with his paw and drinks it. Thanks for your help!

Cats are very good groomes and typically will ingest a small amount of litter just cleaning themselves routinely. Unless he is eating large amounts there is nothing to worry about. You can try to keep the litter and water bowl farther apart to minimize the amount that can be tracted to it.
