My 3-month puppy has severe vomiting and diarrhea. Is it parvo?

Hello I have a 3 months old siberian husky puppy and tonight shes vomiting a lot and a lot of diahrea. Today i took her to the park and she met her brothers and sisters and mother. One of her brothers is sick and vomting aswell. what do you think it can be please? Thanks a lot

Oh my, I've very concerned about Luna! I would be very worried she could have parvovirus, which is a deadly disease of young unvaccinated puppies. It is also highly contagious, and if her brother is sick as well, it's possible that he could have parvo. Luna needs to see a vet immediately. There is no cure for parvovirus, but supportive treatment from the vet is the best chance of survival. In the future, it is never recommend to take a puppy out in public until they are fully vaccinated to prevent them from getting highly contagious and deadly diseases such as parvo and distemper. For now, get her into a vet right away. I hope this helps!

It sounds like poor Luna is sick! At her age, this could be caused by parvovirus, a life threatening infection of young unvaccinated dogs. It could also be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, intestinal parasites, and a foreign body. Young puppies like Luna do not have a fully developed immune system, and can go downhill quickly, so I would take her into a vet immediately. It's important she is checked out right away to make sure she doesn't have a serious illness like parvo. Once the cause is found, the vet can treat her accordingly.

Poor Diablo! If he hasn't been vaccinated at all before now, I would be concerned that his vomiting could be caused by parvovirus. Parvo is a life threatening disease of young unvaccinated puppies which requires immediate medical attention. Other causes of vomiting include GI illness, pancreatitis, eating something rotten, or a foreign body. Given that he has been vomiting for a day and a half, he's stopped eating, and that fact that I don't know his full vaccination status, I think he should be taken into a vet right away. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat appropriately. If he does have parvo, there is no cure for it and it can only be treated symptomatically, which is why it's important to take him into a vet now.

My puppy about 3 months now, has been throwing up/diarrhea it started since the morning, she's not throwing up constantly. (The throw up is a dark yellow) I'm not sure if she ate something that shes not supposed to. She refuses to eat and drink water
Luna could have an infection, parasite, upset stomach from something she ate, obstruction, etc. Since she seems uncomfortable, it would be best to have your vet do an examination to determine the cause and treat the problem. Your vet contest a stool sample for parasites and then prescribe medications to help with the vomiting and diarrhea. She may need an anti-vomiting injection, antibiotic, dewormer, antiacid, gastrointestinal protectant, or other medications to help control the vomiting and diarrhea. You could also try to feed her a small amount of boiled chicken and white rice and see if you can get her to eat a little bit of food.

I have a 8 week old husky wolf mix and she's had dihreah for a couple of days but with no blood and she's throwing up for the first time should I be concerned ?
Yes, I would be concerned, as it's not normal for a puppy to have diarrhea for a couple of days, and to then start vomiting. I would have Sasha seen by a vet today. These symptoms could be caused by GI illness, eating something rotten, intestinal parasites, a foreign body, or parvovirus (even though you haven't seen blood in it). The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests to check for parvo and to see if infection is present, and a urinalysis to diagnose what is causing her symptoms so she can be treated.

Eva sounds very ill and she needs veterinary attention now. She likely isn't fully vaccinated yet, and these symptoms could be due to parvovirus. Parvo is too often fatal, and it has no cure. The best chance for survival is intensive supportive treatment at the vet. Her symptoms could also be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten or toxic, or a foreign body. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Hi there! Sorry to hear that Luna is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Luna reevaluated since she has not improved to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start her on anti-nausea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your girl!

Hello, thank you for your question about Luna. I would recommend having Luna seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Diarrhea and lethargy can be signs of a serious infection, parvovirus, in young puppies. Additionally puppies can become dehydrated and have low body temperature very rapidly. Dog constantly throws up.
That's not good that Luna constantly throws up! It could be she has a severe GI illness, parvovirus if she isn't vaccinated, a foreign body, may have eaten something rotten or toxic, or could have pancreatitis. I see that she isn't spayed, and while it wouldn't be common in a dog her age, she could possibly have a pyometra (an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment). A dog who is constantly throwing up is considered a medical emergency, and she needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Behavior like this can be concerning in a young puppy, because puppies are supposed to be active and playful most of the time. With vomiting in a young puppy I always worry about parvovirus and intestinal parasites. If she has not been vaccinated or dewormed I would recommend taking her to your vet to be examined so that these two diseases can be ruled out. If Luna is up to date with her vaccinations and wormings and has only vomited one time, you could keep an eye on her for the next 24 hours and see how she does. If she continues to vomit, has diarrhea, or stops wanting to eat, then I would recommend taking her in right away. I hope this helps. Best of luck.

Poor Roxie! I would take her into the vet immediately. It's serious that she's been getting sick so frequently, and given that she is not fully protected from vaccines, I would be very concerned that she may have parvovirus. She should see a vet right away, she will need a shot to stop the vomiting, and any other treatment the vet deems necessary. The vet can do a blood test to diagnose parvo, and treat her for it should she have it. There is no cure for parvo, only symptomatic treatment, which needs to be started right away for the best chance of survival. Please take her into a vet now.
