Why does my dog have louder exhaling in nose

Some breeds will naturally have louder breath sounds or what is called respiratory stridor. This can be due to narrow airway, smaller nares, extra tissue such as soft palate. If Pumkin has just recently started to make noise breathing and he wasn’t before, then this could be indicative of a problem. Inflammation, infection or nasal mass or foreign body could cause this. If this is a new sign I recommend a veterinary visit to evaluate him. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
