My cat's neuter incision looks strange. Is it infected or healing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 8.5 lbs

He has fixed 18 days ago and the wound started looking like this and I went to the vet and I was told that if he continues having a normal behavior I should not worry. But I am still worried looking through the web I saw many images of infected wounds and I thought that they look at it like this one. He's a very active cat, he likes to run all around the house so I left him in the vet during the first 8 days. After that the doctor said that he could have a normal routine. Should I really worry?

Restrict his activity if possible. That may allow for more rapid healing. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, excessive bleeding or discharge and fever. If Gary is behaving normally and eating normally, then he should, indeed, be fine and healing uneventfully.
