Can dogs with allergies safely eat eggs, peas, carrots, sweet potato?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 9 months old | 11 lbs

My two dogs (bichons) have food allergies, I have found through tests that they are not allergic to eggs. Would a regular diet of scrambled eggs, peas, carrots and sweet potato cause any long term problem?

If you are looking at formulating your own homemade diet there is a great resource for that that I recommend to clients that cook for their pets. The website is www . Balanceit.com Here you can use a tool called the free autobalancer and input the ingredients you wish to use. It will tell you if your diet is sufficient or not. Also, you will need to add a vitamin and mineral supplement to the food and this website sells the powdered supplement to mix in with the food. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions or are having difficulties using that website. Have a great weekend!
