Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 2 months and 16 days old
Blue had abcesses on his jaw & chest. The abcsess on the jaw popped pus when I took him to the vet. There, I found out that on his jaw was a cat bite. His rapid breathing made the vet conclude that he has FIV? The only given medications're iodine for the wound & cleaning agent to clean the chest abcess when it pops.He had just ŕecovered from distemper so his spine & hips can be clearly felt but his belly is round & big? He is eating very well and not lethargic. Whats going on & what can i do?

Poor blue, it does sound like his immune system may be quite weak and blood tests for felv, fiv and fip would be worthwhile to fully assess what is going on. I also recommend a high quality kitten food to try and rebuild his strength and antibiotics may be required if he develops a fever
