Thank you for providing picture of Molly, she is beautiful, and it helps me see the bump you mentioned. In a dog her age, I would wonder if the bump was caused by trauma (soft tissue swelling), or it could be a cyst. I'm not sure how long it has been there, but if it's been there longer than a couple of days and/or it's getting bigger, have her seen by a vet for it. Otherwise, monitor it for a few days, and if it doesn't go away or gets bigger, take her into the vet. Try placing a cold compress on it a couple of times a day for five minutes at a time if she will let you to see if it helps it go down. Good luck, I hope this helps!

This may be a little abscess, a cyst or a little tumor. your vet will palpate the little mass and probably check whether it is fluid fille with a very fine needle. If it is fluid filled he will take out the fluid. If it is solid, your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning. No reason to freak out at this time. I does not really look that concerning to me.

I have a 7 week old puppy that has what looks like a fluid filled cyst on her stomach. Any ideas of what it could be?
Hello, that looks like it could either be a local reaction to something like a bug bite. Other causes such as sterile abscess or cyst from a hair follicle or skin glands can also cause this. If it is painful or is continues to grow in the next couple of hours then I would have it evaluated by a veterinarian today. Otherwise, you can apply an ice pack or bag of frozen peas wrapped in a thin cloth over the area to see if the swelling decreases. If if doesn't or if is worse by the morning then you should have it assessed by you veterinarian tomorrow. Hope this helps and best of luck.

If it does not resolve quickly (burst open or disappear), this kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors (very very unlikely given her age). Skipper developed a soft lump on his rt side. Very quick development. No obvious pain or discomfort
Has he been licking at it? Can you identify a wound on it? It may be an abscess (localized infection) under the skin, as thise can show up very quickly. You can shave the hair over the top and clean it with dilute Betadine (available at any pharmacy - use water to dilute it so it looks like tea). Put an ecollar (cone) on him to prevent him from biting or chewing on it, and make an appointment with your vet as soon as you can—but it’s not something you need to see an emergency vet for as long as it’s not seeming painful and he’s eating and acting normally. Other possible causes would be some type of tumor (though less likely with his age), or a fluid accumulation called a seroma. Your vet may Do a fine needle aspirate (poke the bump with a needle and then look at cells under the microscope) to see what it is and then know how best to treat it. This bump grew almost overnight on my dog. I am taking her to the vet but they can't get her in until Friday. Any ideas what it could be?
Bumps that appear rapidly are usually some sort of fluid-filled mass. This may simply be a blood blister, but it's also possible that it's a type of tumor that is filled with blood (hemangioma, or hemangiosarcoma). As long as she's otherwise normal, she will be fine to wait until Friday for your vet to look at it. They can inspect it closer and take samples to give you a better idea of what it is. My dog had this weird bump on her and I'm not sure what it is and if its bad or not
This may be an abscess, a cyst or a tumor. You should have it examined by your veterinarian, as it is not possible to distinguish these by just looking at a photo. An abscess can usually be treated with antibiotics and/or be lanced, and a cyst can be evacuated. To identify a tumor, your vet may want to do a fine needle aspirate (he takes some material from the bump with a needle and then looks at it under the microscope) to determine whether the mass is concerning.

Hello, thank you for your question about Chloe. Based on the photos that you've attached and the symptoms that you are describing it sounds like Chloe may have a mass/tumor on her eyelid. These are generally benign and do not lead to systemic problems. Other possible causes include a cyst or local infection. Since this lesion is growing in size I would recommend having Chloe seen by your veterinarian. If it continues to grow it may lead to problems on the surface of her eye. Your veterinarian can examine Chloe and determine the need for diagnostics such as ocular examination and potential removal of this lesion. Hope this helps!

About two weeks ago this bump popped up on my 9 year old mini dachshund. She has severe outdoor allergies and gets rashes and welts all the time that go away pretty quickly. This one isnt going away. ive checked and it’s not fatty or filled with pus
It doesn't appear to be serious, but unfortunately it's not possible to tell from just the picture. I would have to take a sample of it and look under the microscope to tell for sure. However, this bump looks more related to inflammation rather than something serious like skin cancer. This could simply be a boil. One thing that would help determine whether the bump is harmful or not is the amount of time it's been there. If it has been there for over a month and is growing, then I would be more suspicious of a tumor or cyst. If it has only been there a week or two, then I would give it some more time. My dog has a fairly large bump on the side of his face/neck that is filled with fluid, there isnt any bruising or anything but he keeps scratching at it. I just want to know what it is and if I should be worried?
It is difficult to say exactly what it is, but I would suspect it could be an abscess. This can happen with trauma, a foreign body (like a piece of stick or a grass seed) or a bite or scratch from another animal. I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian for an examination. They may recommend taking a sample with a needle to confirm what it is first. If it is an abscess, it may require sedation to lance it and may need to have a drain placed. They will probably also prescribe oral antibiotics and pain medication.

Although a picture of it would help to give you more specific answers, this growth should be ideally examined by your veterinarian to have a definitive diagnosis. Your vet will examine it and possibly perform with an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy. Differentials would include skin cyst, infections or benign or malignant type of tumors. From your description this mass could be a lipoma ( a benign type of tumor, coming from fat tissue).
