My dog accidentally took a whole Cerenia pill. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 32 lbs

I accidentally gave my dog (weight 32 lbs) a whole pill of cerenia 60 mg. I had 3 new pills to give her & I got confused. She was supposed to have only 1/2. It's been almost 3 hours now. What do I need to do? She is almost 12 years old and has cushings disease.

Oh no, I know you must be worried but mistakes do happen! The good news is that there is a wide dose range of Cerenia for dogs, and even giving her the 60mg tablet is still well within the normal and safe dose range at her weight. There is nothing you need to do except give her the half pill the next time her medication is due. It's all ok :-)

1/4 tablet means to give 1/4 of a single tablet. So if you have a box of 4 tablets, you essentially have 16 individual doses you can give. I would only recommend giving this every 24 hours as well. My 10 LB dog got two doses of vetmedin this morning. Instead of 1/2 of 2.5 tab she received 1/2 from both of us should we be concerned?
Hello and thank you very much for your question. Your dog is so very lucky to have such concerned and caring parents. Vetmedin is administered at a dosage of 0.5 mg per kilogram of body weight. A kilogram is equal to 2.2 pounds. If I am reading your question correctly, you both gave 1.25 mg to your dog this morning. That is the total daily dose recommended for a dog your size. Even though the dosage should be divided into two doses given approximately 12 hours apart, it is absolutely fine in this situation that the entire daily dosage was given once. So, no, you have no reason to be concerned with what happened this morning. Your dog should be absolutely fine. Please do not give any doses for the rest of the day and tomorrow morning, go back to your regular 1/2 tablet every 12 hours dosing schedule. I hope I have given you the information you needed. Angel takes 15mg Mirtazapine daily as an appetite stimulant. I didn’t realize my boyfriend already gave it to her this morning and I just gave her another 15mg. She is approx 20 kg. Will she be okay? What should I do/watch out for?

My 8-10 pound dog just accidentay ingested a 20mn clomicalm pill. Is this a dangerous amount?
The dosage for a dog her size is 10mg, so she ingested two times this amount. however studies have shown no serious adverse effect with double that dose so i believe she will be fine. symptoms you should expect: vomiting, lethargy and diarrhea.

Dog takes vetoryl in morning. Accudentally give another dose this evening. What do i do?
Pearl will likely be fine with one extra dose, but I would call your vet first thing tomorrow morning to see if she should get her regular dose then. To be on the safe side, keep an eye out for any lethargy, vomiting, or diarrhea. I hope that helps!

A single dose of this size of Vetoryl will likely pose no serious risk of toxicity. Monitor for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea or loss of appetite. See your veterinarian if any of these symptoms develop.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! She is adorable! No need to be concerned. This medication has a wide therapeutic index and even if she had 5 tablets that would be well within an acceptable range. She may be a bit drowsy perhaps for the next 6-8 hours. She should be fine. Have a good weekend!

No, mixing up these medications is unlikely to have any adverse events (other than possible mild gastrointestinal issues as with starting many medications). These medications are quite similar and indeed both have been used for treatment of both conditions. I would continue with their normal prescribed medications when their next dose is due

Cetirizine is an antihistamine and it is a drug that dogs can take. The normal dose for a dog is 0.5mg/# so at 5.5kg his dose is 6mg. At 10mg I don't think he will have much side effects if at all. The most common adverse effects of cetirizine are sedation, lethargy, vomiting, drooling (hypersalivation), and lack of appetite. These are often self-limiting meaning they will go away on their own once the drug has been metabolized out of his body. I really would not worry too much about this. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Not to worry! 35mg of acepromazine is still within a normal dosage range for a dog Botticelli's size. She may be extra groggy and have a longer nap than usual, but there should be no other detrimental effects. :-)
