Is Annamaet reduced fat dog food right for my fat-sensitive dog?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 8 months and 15 days old | 23.6 lbs

Is Annamaet a good dog food brand? I'm specifically looking at Annamaet Grain-Free Reduced Fat Dry Dog Food for my dogs that can't handle a lot of fat.

It's an OK food brand, but it doesn't seem to formulate their foods to tailor the calorie content to the specific life stage of the dog. This is concerning if you want to avoid too much fat, because this food will likely have too much fat. Whether it's grain-free or not will not affect the fat levels. The most important thing on that bag is a tiny bit of writing under the guaranteed analysis called the AAFCO statement. This statement tells you what actual research went into making the product. Below is a link to an article that will help explain this more and give some other info about feeding your dog: https://www.petcoach.co/article/what-to-look-for-when-choosing-your-pet-s-food/ I recommend feeding Sirius a brand of food that has an AAFCO statement indicating that it is for adult maintenance. Sirius should be fed an adult food and the fat levels will be less. If the dogs continue to have issues with the fat in the food, then I would recommend taking them for a vet consult. It's possible that there may be a medical condition causing this that can be treated. I hope that helps and all is well with your dogs.
