Why is my husky shedding in clumps in November? Should I worry?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | neutered | 2 years and 5 months old

My husky has been shedding his coat in clumps although it's November. I live in Southern California and it isn't hot, but it isn't cold either. He started shedding near the beginning of November, and he usually sheds from June-August. Why is this happening, and should I be worried?

If his skin appears normal otherwise and he is over-all normal, then I would not be worried. I'm not sure if something about the weather this year is different? If his fur does not regrow normally, then get him in for endocrine testing. I hope this helps!
