My cat has pink bumps on her head. What are they and how to treat?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 years and 3 months old | 10 lbs

My Tabby cat recently developed small pinkish pimple-like bumps on and around her head and back of head. What do you think this is and what I can do to remove them?

It is difficult to diagnose without seeing the bumps but she could have a bacterial skin infection, allergic dermatitis, cysts, papillomas, or other types of masses. You could bathe her with a medicated cat shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, she should be examined by a vet to determine the exact cause and best way to treat. She may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, or they may need to be removed.
