Why is my dog losing leg hair with black dots on his skin?

Hello, I have a 7 month old pomsky. A few days ago I noticed that he lost a patch of hair on his back leg (inside next to his stomach). I see black/yellow dots inside his pores (where supposed to be hair roots). My vet is out of town and I'm a little concerned or at least want to know what I am dealing with..

Hi there. Many things could be causing it. It could have been a good scratch, or it could be early signs of a mite infection called demodex. If it spreads or doesn’t seem to be improving then I would recommend having him examined by your veterinarian. Best of luck and I hope he improves soon.
