What's the best way to medicate a large colony of cats with URIs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

How could I medicate a large colony of cats ( ~100 )? Around half of them have an URI. I am praying it's not FVR or worse

unfortunately it is not really possible to treat a large group of animals. If you try to medicate the water or food than one cat might be over dosed and the other might be underused. The problem with large colonies of cats is they often have herpes virus infections and even sometimes feline leukemia/feline aids. These disease will make them constantly have upper respiratory signs. You could try to add viralysis to the food. This is a lysine supplement to help decrease viral replication. I am not sure if it is possible to trap them and medicate them individually. I hope that helps
