Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Male | neutered | 14 years old | 7.5 lbs
My cat was put to sleep yesterday after 7 weeks of severe diarrhoea, lost approx 2 kilos in weight. Bloods and faeces samples all came back clear, blood pressure normal and hyperthyroidism ruled out. He started vomiting faeces on Saturday afternoon, again Sunday afternoon and early hrs of Monday. He had been put on two lots of anti biotic and finally steriods but nothing seemed to be working, although he was constantly hunger whilst on steriods it didn't stay down, he was alert. Did we do right

Poor Sutry. It is never an easy decision to euthanize a loved one. From what you are telling me, it sounds like he was likely suffering from intestinal lymphoma which is a type of cancer they get in the intestines. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for these cats. If he were my cat, I would have made the same decision. Please take comfort in knowing you made the right decision for Sutry and that he was lucky to have such an amazing family. Please know I am thinking of you all during this time.
