Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I'm quite worried about your description of Ashton. That's pretty dramatic weight loss which indicates something serious is going on. The "goo" from his mouth could indicate a tooth infection (perhaps he's not eating because his mouth is so painful), or he could be excessively drooling from nausea, which could indicate a systemic disease such as diabetes or kidney disease. Ashton needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. Your vet will be able to perform a good oral exam to see if the problem is coming from his mouth, and if no obvious issue is seen, they will need to run bloodwork to check his organ function. It's very important to bring him in as soon as possible, as cats who aren't eating are at risk of other problems, such as hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease) which can make him sicker. I hope this helps and he feels better soon!
