Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to hear about Lakai. Absolutely, Mast Cell Tumors need to be removed. Early intervention with these is key. Please follow your veterinarian's recommendations with this type of tumor. Good luck with Lakai.

    I always recommend removing mast cell tumors. I would also send it in for histopath to find out what stage it is. Most are Stage 1, do removing them truly gets rid of them. If they are Stage 2- there is a slight chance that it will spread. Stage 3 is bad news, but they are rare. It would be nice to know what is most likely to happen.
