My Papillon's tongue turns blue with tracheal collapse. Is she suffering?

My 11 yr old Papillion has severe tracheal colaspe...her tongue turns blue when excited and gasps for air while coughing...is she suffering during these episodes?

I would discuss this with your veterinarian. There are medications that may be able to help. Sometimes bronchodilators help and sometimes they need steroids to help. If he episodes are frequent there is a surgery that can be performed by a specialist to help kee Lina's airway open. Her trachea collapses during these episodes and basically it is her having a difficult time breathing and getting oxygen.
