My dog is constipated but acting normal. What home remedies can I try?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 8 years and 4 months old | 13 lbs

My dog hasn’t defecated in a few days, he would normally go everyday if not twice a day. He isn’t lethargic, he is still eating like normal and is behaving like he normally would, is there anything I can do to help him do his business?

It's definitely a good sign that he is eating and acting normally, so you can try to treat for constipation at home. Below is a link to a good article that explains how to do this and will let you know when it's time to take Ollie to the vet. https://www.petcoach.co/article/best-home-made-remedies-for-your-constipated-pet/ I hope that helps and all is well with Ollie.
