What's wrong with my kitten? Lethargic, no appetite, x-ray suspicious.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 5 months and 19 days old | 4 lbs

I need help identifying something weird in my kitten? I adopted a kitten about 6 weeks ago and I took him to the vet recently. The vet took an x-ray scanning and pointed out something suspicious in my kitten's body. I was getting mixed opinions about this from other humane societies and vets and I was wondering what you guys think about this. (The kitten is 6 months old.) (His appetite has decreased about a week ago.) (For the past week he seems to be lethargic)

The area circled looks like gas but there is decreased detail in the abdomen so I am worried there could be some fluid in the abdominal cavity. Your vet could do an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate the abdomen and determine if there is a problem that needs to be treated.
