Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered | 2 years and 1 month old
My 2 year old Siamese house cat has been vomiting a lot since yesterday. Only water comes out. He vomited once last week but then hasn't since yesterday. His stools are normal, his behaviour is its normal playful self, he's eating as usual, and he's not any different at all. I've looked for advice online and found an article saying not to feed him for 24 hours and to only give him water. So I started that about 15 hours ago or so. What should I do? How much would xrays cost if its needed?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Diggie! Causes of vomiting in cats can be from: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, foreign body ingestion, toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, food allergy or intolerance. Another thing to consider in Diggie since he is a Simaese is feline asthma. Asthma is common in his breed. When cats cough it sounds like they are trying to bring up a hairball but nothing comes up or white foam comes up. I do not think it is wrong to fast Diggie for 12-24 hours then resume feeding as small frequent meals. If he continues to vomit then I agree he should be seen by your Vet for an exam. If they feel X-rays are warranted then ask for the price. Where I work 2 view X-rays costs $95 (US dollars) but we are a more inexpensive clinic. I hope this helps and I wish Diggie a speedy recovery!
