Pet's info: Dog | Pekingese | Male | neutered | 8 years and 2 months old | 14 lbs
8 year old male Pekingese. Has episodes of not wanting to move(lays on his stomach) lasts 2-3 hours, 1-3 times per day. Happening for 9 days now. Taking doxycycline prednisone and aspirin for 8 days for positive Lyme disease with no improvement. Seems kind of like a seizure but he is awake and alert. Heart rate 72 and irregular. Resp rate 20. Does not appear to be in pain. Head twitching at times during the episodes like things are spinning for him. What could be going on?

This could be a heart issue, pain from Lyme disease, generally not feeling well due to a metabolic or endocrine disease, or focal seizures. I would recommended letting your vet know that the treatment hasn't helped yet and figure out what the next step is for Sir Maximus. You'll probably need to schedule a recheck so you're doctor can listen to his heart and lungs. Sometimes it takes trying a few treatments before we find the true underlying cause of an issue. Good luck!
