My dog has a raw open leg wound he keeps licking. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Catahoula Leopard Dog | Male | neutered | 2 years and 7 months old | 40 lbs

My Catahoula has a quarter sized round open wound that is raw on his inner upper leg. He has been licking it, but he let me treat it with tea tree oil.

It looks deep enough it might need stitches. I would let your vet check it to start antibiotics for an infection and see if it is too late for sutures. In the meantime you can clean it with mild soap and water and apply neosporin to keep it clean. Try to not let him lick the area. You may have to get a e collar from a pet store for this
