Why does my senior Maltese have a growing red spot on his cloudy eye?

Maltese 11 yrs old eyes are clouded but now has a dark red spot like a blood vessel looks like it got a little larger since two weeks. Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | neutered | 11 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs

Hello, sorry to hear about Trini. It looks like he could have a deep ulcer on his cornea that may require topical medications and antibiotics. The cloudiness in his eyes appears to be secondary from cataracts. This should definitely be evaluated by your veterinarian as ulcers are usually quite painful and require aggressive medical management. Since it has been there for two weeks not, when the ulcer heals, he may have a noticeable scar on his cornea as well. Hope this helps and best of luck.
