My puppy ate pizza and is now vomiting, has diarrhea, won't eat.

Hey so I gave my 3 month old puppy some pizza the next day he threw up and had bad diarrhea he stoped eating for a whole day and was mostly sleeping all day he still drank water but now it’s the second day and he got more energy now but still won’t eat as much he had a little dog food but he is still sick what’s wrong with him?? Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 month and 27 days old | 12 lbs

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Shadow! Some dogs can not handle people food due to sensitive stomachs. Shadow is a bit young to be fed pizza. It likely caused inflammation of his stomach and intestines or pancreatitis. he could also be vomiting and not eating for other reasons: foreign body ingestion (something is stuck requiring surgery), viral (parvo) or bacterial infections, intestinal parasites, toxin ingestion, other food allergies or sensitivities. Since Shadow is so young if he is still vomiting I recommend he see your Vet today. If the vomiting has stopped I would try to feed him a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days then transition him back to his puppy food. If he continue to not eat he should be seen by your Vet before the weekend.
