My 4-year-old Mini Schnauzer barks too much. What training works?

I just adopted a 4 year old miniature schnauzer. He's a great dog, but barks way too much. I would like to know if training could help. Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | neutered | 4 years and 8 months old | 22 lbs
