Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I’m sorry to hear Dodds is having a skin issue. It is difficult to tell from the picture if that is a growth or a possible skin infection. Either way I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his skin lesion and start any treatment that he may need. If it is an infection, he may need antibiotics or a topical cream to help heal it. If it is a growth or mass, it would be important to determine if it is benign (non-cancerous) or not so appropriate steps could be taken if needed. Good luck!

It's difficult to tell from the picture. If it is raised then it could be a benign mass like a histiocytoma or lick granuloma. It could also be a malignant mass like a mast cell tumor. If it is flat and more like a scab then it is likely a hot spot from itching/licking. You can place a cone collar to prevent any licking and put neosporin on it twice a day to see if it will heal. If not, contact your vet to see if he needs any oral antibiotics. If it is a mass I would have your vet do an exam and look at some cells under the microscope to ensure it doesn't need to be removed surgically. I hope this helps.
