Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 12 years and 5 months old | 15 lbs
My dog, Daisy, is a 12-year-old chihuahua mutt. Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with a vaginal/cervical tumor that the vet thought was cancerous. Yesterday, I noticed that her right eye was squinted shut and she was pawing at it and rubbing it against blankets. I noticed that it appeared swollen and the whites of her eyes are red. Today, I noticed that her pupil looks extremely cloudy. I was wondering if this is something simple or if it's something serious?

It's impossible to tell you what is going on with Daisy, but the most common cause of a dog squinting and rubbing their eye is a corneal ulceration. Corneal ulcers are often relatively easy to heal, but become worse the longer it is before they are treated, so I would recommend having Daisy evaluated by your vet ASAP. I have attached more information below. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=554 Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
