My old dog is confused, bumping, and peeing indoors. What should I do?

I have a 6 yo Sheltie. About 2 years ago, he started loosing his teeth. For the last 9 months, he has been running into things.now will not go out in the dark. He gets confused in the house and runs into things that should be familiar. Now he has started urinating around the house. My husband and I are not willing to pay too much for extensive medical treatment. I am at a loss for what to do. Is it possible that I need to be looking at putting him down?

Yes, euthanasia may indeed be a very valid option given the severity of his signs and limitations to his lifestyle. A blood screen may provide information as to the underlying causes and possible management options also
