My dog has an eye lump. Vets can't diagnose. Should I worry about cancer?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 8 months old

Last week a lump appeared in the corner of my dogs eye. It showed up out of no where. She had seen 2 vets and they have no idea what it is. They don't want to remove it because if the location. Im worried it's cancerous and if we let it go it will only get worse.

That is an unusual location for a mass. Good for your for being persistent in figuring out what it is. I would recommend consulting with a veterinary ophthalmologist to decide if it should be surgically removed. Ophthalmologists have additional years of surgical training with the eyes, so they will be the best source of information for you. You can find an ophthalmologist near you at this website. http://acvo.org/new/public/locate.shtml Good luck! I hope that was helpful and that Oprah's mass is benign. Thanks for using PetCoach.
