My pitbull has a raised, silver dollar-sized, scabby bump. What is it?

My pitbull is 2 she had a raised bump the size of a silver dollar that has a massive scab on top

Since Sunshine is young, this may be something like a histiocytoma (see the link below), but the only way to know for sure is for your vet to collect some cells with a needle (called a fine needle aspirate) and look at them under the microscope. https://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=1676 There are other things that it could be, so I would recommend having your vet evaluate it to make sure that it isn't infected, that it is benign and decide if any treatment is needed right now.     Hi there! I think this is a small benign tumor on Kandi’s face. Sometimes these kinds of growths can go away on their own within a few weeks. If you are concerned about it, your vet can take a small sample and look at it under the microscope to give you a diagnosis. This is called a fine needle aspirate and cytology. Otherwise, just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get bigger or start to bother her. Hope that helps!
