My 14-month-old cat missed distemper booster. What vaccines now?

My cat got all his shots when neutered but I did not go back for the distemper booster- I was in the hospital. He is 14 months now. What vaccines should he get?

Great question! Feline core vaccines include FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and a Rabies vaccine. If Quinn is an outdoor cat, the FeLV vaccine (feline leukemia) should be considered. I hope this helps!

Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco with your question. Feline core vaccines include FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and a Rabies vaccine. If they are outdoor cats, the FeLV vaccine (feline leukemia) should be considered. Some vets like to give rabies at an appointment separate from the other vaccines, usually given two weeks after those vaccines. It will be up to their vet to decide when to give them. Great question, and good on you for wanting to get Lucchese neutered and vaccinated! Feline core vaccines include FVRCP (feline distemper combo) and a Rabies vaccine. If he is an outdoor cat, the FeLV vaccine (feline leukemia) should be considered. Excellent question. The main vaccination(s) they need are: 1) FVRCP- a combo upper respiratory vaccine. 2) And if they go outdoors they should get the FeLV (leukemia) vaccination, which is an infection that is spread through drinking water. 3) Then of course the Rabies vaccine, if it is required in your state. The FVRCP and Rabies vaccine can be given once a year for the first year, then once every 3 years. The FeLV vaccine is given yearly.

If a cat has had no shots and the cat is 9 months old, what all would it need besides rabies?
She should have a 4-way vaccine now (FCRP, or something similar) along with a feline leukemia vaccine - these will both need to be boostered in 3-4 weeks, then again in one year. She does also need a rabies vaccine - this is a single vaccine that does not need to be boostered, so it will also be good for a year.

I have a 6 month old kitten who needs her first vaccination. I was wondering if the combination vaccine is appropriate for her or if she's too old for it.. I've never had a kitten this old not be vaccinated
If Asha has never had any vaccinations before, she would need three total vaccines at this point - FVRCP (for feline distemper, along with several common respiratory viruses in cats), feline leukemia, and rabies. The FVRCP and leukemia vaccines often come as a combination vaccine, although they can also be given separately - either option would be fine :) The FVRCP and leukemia vaccines will also need to be boostered in three weeks. After that, both they and the rabies vaccine will be good for at least a year, or possibly longer depending on your veterinarian's typical vaccine protocol.

I believe you mean the distemper vaccine. Feline distemper vaccine is a combination vaccine including feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia. You can give your local VetCo a call to make Oreo an appointment to get it done. At seven months of age, he should have one now, and another in four weeks to make sure he is fully protected. What vaccines are required for 3 month old kitten ?
A 3 month old kitten should get a feline distemper (FVRCP) vaccine. This should be repeated in 4 and 8 weeks. The FVRCP should be boosted yearly thereafter. She can also get a rabies vaccine at this age. It should be boosted yearly. If she is to be an outdoor cat, she should get a feline leukemia (FeLV) vaccine which needs to be repeatedly in 4 weeks and then yearly. A FeLV/FIV test and a fecal exam should also be done. Deworm her if indicated and repeat in 3 weeks.

Hi there, if Gabriella is an adult cat, she world need the rabies and fvrcp combo given once, then boostered after 12mths. That second dose would likely be good for 3yrs. If she is a kitten, we recommend boosting the fvrcp every 2-4wks until she's 16wks old. The risk for felv increases if she's ever in contact with other cats eg. If neighbors cats come into your yard, or she goes to a boarding facility. If that is the case, she should get the felv (leukemia) vaccine. After the initial 2 doses, felv should be boosted annually. Hello, thank you for your question about Miskit. There are two 'core' vaccines required in cats, meaning that all cats should receive these vaccines regardless of their environment. All animals should be vaccinated against Rabies, even if they are indoor only, as Rabies can be transmitted to humans and is life threatening. The second vaccine that is considered required for all cats is called 'feline distemper' (the vaccine is often abbreviated FVRCP). This vaccine prevents cats from becoming infected with many life-threatening viral diseases. If your cat has never received this vaccine before, it is likely that your veterinarian will recommend he receive his first shot and then a booster vaccine 3-4 weeks later to ensure he develops appropriate immunity to these viruses.
