My dog has a growing, painless leg bump. What if I can't afford a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Pointer | Male | unneutered | 40 lbs

My dog has a bump on leg/foot that appears to be getting bigger. Doesn't seem to hurt. Started out to look like a hot spot, treated with peroxide . Will it be ok? I have no money to take to vet let alone removal. This dog means the world to me but my daughter and I are almost homeless ourselves

This does appear to be a tumor or growth of some sort on Maggie's leg. Unfortunately, topical treatments such as peroxide are not going to be helpful. This mass may be benign or malignant, but without some sort of exam and needle aspirated or biopsy, you will have no way of knowing. So, unfortunately, a veterinary visit is the only way of moving forward with a diagnosis or treatment, which is most likely going to require surgery.
